Night 2003 at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza in FNAF: Blood & Gears isn’t your run-of-the-mill doorman reflexes test. You are a security guard under siege, and weighted down by debt; the game puts you in a position where the line between life and death is in your control of the 2000s technology system.
While the original games only worried about the total power consumption, FNAF: Blood & Gears weaves a tightly interwoven network of technical pressures. Your equipment system relies on three things at the same time: the building’s main power supply, the laptop battery capacity, and the CPU usage.
The real tactical vision is to optimise the inspection cycle. If you quickly look up where the animatronic is, then immediately disable the surveillance system to allow the CPU to cool down, and then proactively switch to watching the office space.
The turning point of the whole defensive operation is the asymmetrical structural design of the guard room. The great iron door on the left makes you feel perfectly safe, but it uses a lot of electricity every time it comes down. In contrast, the right side is only shielded by a thin curtain, so you have to spot hidden threats with a handheld torch.
This trade-off forces the player to make tactical choices all the time. If you panic and close the left door too soon, the main's power drops quickly, and the right-hand torch won't be much use in those savage dawn assaults. The experienced players will take the risk, keep the left door open for as long as possible, listen for footsteps, and only flash the right light in brief bursts to save battery.

The Overtime tasks Jeremy gives you between nights aren’t merely extra minigames. These maintenance missions see you leave your safe location to fix machinery, such as the "Freddy on the Run" arcade machine, with Bonnie and Chica always lurking around.
There is risk, and there is reward. The overtime shift requires a lot of focus, because you are doing technical tasks and listening for sounds in the dark at the same time. In return, you'll uncover hidden plot points and pieces of critical data in the Fazbear Archive ARG. The decision to take on or skip the shift depends on your ability to handle the pace and your ability to cope with pressure.
FNAF: Blood & Gears turns the horror experience into a tense strategic game. Are you planning on conserving main power, or keeping the cameras online for active defence? Start your shift today and test your tactics!
