Baldi’s Basics Classic Remastered puts you in a school with seven notebooks to collect and a teacher who’s always listening. Many newcomers think the math problems are the main challenge. In reality, what determines whether you escape or not is the amount of noise you make along the way.
Baldi hears the sound of doors opening, lockers clicking, and even your running. Each additional notebook you pick up makes his ruler tapping faster. Think of that tapping as a countdown clock. If it gets louder, he’s getting closer.
The question in the third notebook is designed to be unsolvable. You don’t need to waste time looking for the answer.
The stamina bar is essentially a noise budget
Running depletes your stamina quickly and creates more noise. The headmaster even sends you to jail if you run in the hallways or open lockers. So walk most of the time. Only hold Shift when Baldi is right behind you.
In-game items aren't for combat. They help you divert your pursuer's attention.
Don't use items immediately when you pick them up. Save them for the right situation.
Gotta Sweep and the Dead End Trap
Gotta Sweep pushes everything in its path down the hallway, including Baldi. As the ruler taps faster, avoid dead ends. Getting caught in one now leaves almost no escape.
This version combines three versions into one, and each requires a different play style.
Party Style removes the ability to plan, while Demo Style adds more systems to keep track of simultaneously. Play Classic first to get familiar with the sounds before moving on to the other two styles.
Endless Mode helps train your listening reflexes
All three styles have an Endless mode, where you pick up notebooks until you get caught. This is the best practice for learning to read the rhythm of the ruler as it speeds up.
