You've been kidnapped. Trapped in the house of a dangerous old man. No directions, no map. Grandpa is a first-person survival horror game where you play as the captive in Grandpa's dark, trap-filled house. Your sole objective: solve puzzles, find the key, and escape before the old man catches you.
| Keys | Functions |
|---|---|
| WASD | Move character |
| C | Crouch and reduce noise |
| E | Interact with objects and environment |
| Q | Drop held item |
| T | Throw syringe |
| Esc | Pause |
Crouch with C when he is nearby. Moving upright in areas with fragile objects is the most common mistake.
Each item in the game has a fixed function and cannot be used interchangeably.

The physical fear mechanism completely changes how you play. When you are frightened, your character will close their eyes. You cannot continue to move or act until you calm down. This mechanism directly impacts every decision:
Grandpa hears every sound. If you drop an item, he'll come immediately. Move slowly near fragile objects. When he is standing still or asleep, that's your only chance to find the yellow, blue, and red keys to unlock different areas of the house.
Explore every nook and cranny. Check drawers, tables, and cabinets because important items are often hidden there. Collect axes, syringes, crowbars, and explosives. Each item serves a specific purpose: unlocking, clearing obstacles, or stopping him. When the old man suddenly appears, the closet and hidden corners are the quickest places to hide.
Grandpa has funny moments as well, so it’s not all stressful all the time in the end. This isn’t a complicated skill, so casual players can absolutely play. Just be mindful. Don’t let him hear you.
