Verity is hungry, thirsty, and wants to play. In Granny and Verity, these three things must be constantly monitored as you guide him through a strange village to find his parents.
Granny stumbles upon Verity alone, without a family. From there, you explore the open world, talk to villagers, take on quests, collect items, and handle unexpected events on your journey home. The game runs directly in your browser; no installation required.
The village is a small open world with many characters who have their own quests. You move freely, examine objects around you, and interact with each character to unlock quests. There is no fixed linear path; each area may contain events or items more useful than you think.

Verity has three basic needs that run in real time: hunger, thirst, and a desire to play. All three functions exist simultaneously while you're completing a task. Neglecting them for too long will introduce more variables into the situation and make progress harder to control.
Pick up items area by area, but discard unnecessary items using the Q key before your inventory is full. The mentality of keeping things "maybe needed later" will take up space from important items when you find them. When stuck on a task, press F to see hints instead of trying randomly.
The game has multiple endings depending on the decisions you make along the way. Some choices directly affect Verity's fate, and the story can take unexpected turns. Don't rush through dialogue screens, as each choice can have long-lasting consequences.
